The big search box at the top of the site tries to understand your requirements - for instance if you search for:

bungalow in alness or evanton under 200k with at least 3 beds

it will find you exactly that. It understands postcodes too:

flat to let in IV4

We've tried to build some area names and specific requirements in too - for instance:

cottage on the west coast with sea views

However, the big search box won't understand everything - in particular, at the moment it will struggle with street names which are also names of towns in the area, and local areas of Inverness such as Lochardil or Drakies.

On every page on the site apart from the home page, there are lots of other ways of searching - you'll find them in the right-hand column of each page. You can:

• Click a county on a map
• Draw a shape on a Google map to see all the properties within that area
• View properties added in the last week
• Use the search form to select an area, type of property and price band
• Search by a street name
