Cromarty is an picturesque coastal town in a scenic location overlooking the Cromarty Firth on the Black Isle peninsula in the Ross and Cromarty area. The town is renowned for its impressive Georgian and Victorian housing. Cromarty is also home to the Museum and Birthplace Cottage of Hugh Miller, the famous geologist. The town is also an artistic hub and hosts a yearly film festival, and book festivals. Cromarty has a rich active culture. Inverness is roughly a 40 minute drive south (via the A832).
