Morar is a small village on the attractive west coast of Lochaber. It is famous for the beautiful Morar Beach - the White Sands of Morar, which feature in the films Local Hero, and Breaking The Waves. It is close to Morar Loch, the deepest freshwater loch in Scotland, and reputed to be home to its own monster, nicknamed Morag. Mallaig is roughly 5 minutes drive north (via the A830), Fort William is roughly 55 minutes drive east (via the A830). It also has a station on the Mallaig to Fort William line.
