About Lybster
Lybster is an attractive village on the east coast of Caithness. The village was once an important fishing village and retains a harbour. It also hosts the ‘World Championships of Knotty’, a variation of Shinty, and the film, The Silver Darlings, from Neil Gunn's book, was shot here. Wick is roughly a 20 minute drive north (via the A99), Thurso is roughly a 30 minute drive (via the A9).
