About Plockton
Plockton is a coastal village in the Kyle of Lochalsh area. It’s set within an idyllic scenic location amongst mountains on the shore of Loch Carron and is a popular tourist destination. The TV series Hamish Macbeth was filmed here, as were scenes of the cult classic The Wickerman film. Kyle of Lochalsh is a 15 minute drive, Inverness is roughly 1 hour 40 minutes drive (via the A890). Plockton also has a station on the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh Railway line.
